  3. Smoothie supports a variety of export options that make getting your smoothed pictures out of Smoothie easy.

  6. Using the Clipboard

  8. Using the Clipboard to export your smoothed picture is as simple as using the Clipboard in any other Macintosh application. Just select Copy from the Edit menu to place a copy of the smoothed picture on the Clipboard.

  10. 窶｢    Note: To copy the smoothed picture you should have the smoothed picture showing in the Smoothie document window. If the original picture is showing, the original is what will be copied to the Clipboard.

  13. Exporting a PICT file

  15. Another simple way to get pictures out of Smoothie is to export a PICT file. Just choose the Export PICT File窶ｦ item from the File menu. You will see a standard file dialog box that will let you give the PICT file a name and save the PICT file wherever you want.

  17. A PICT file exported from Smoothie can later be opened by any application that handles PICT files.

  20. Exporting a 1 Frame Movie

  22. Smoothie allows you to turn any picture into a single-frame QuickTime movie.

  24. Single-frame movies are really quite useful. Using this feature, you can create a beautiful, smoothed title or credits. QuickTime will clip and splice them into your movie using any one of the many QuickTime movie editors that are available.

Saving a single-frame movie is almost as simple as saving a PICT file. Choose the Export 1 Frame Movie窶ｦ item from the File menu. The standard QuickTime movie compression dialog box will appear. Select the compression settings you want, then click the OK button. The standard file dialog box will then appear, which will allow you save the movie wherever you want.

  29. Publishing to a PICT edition

  31. A very powerful way to get your pictures out of Smoothie is to use System 7窶冱 Edition Manager. The Edition Manager lets you link pictures between various programs.

  33. To publish your smoothed picture from Smoothie, simply choose the Create Publisher窶ｦ item from the Edit menu. This will bring up the standard publisher dialog box, which allows you to save the edition file wherever you want.

  35. Once you have saved your smoothed picture to an edition file it is updated every time you either save the document or use the Send Edition Now button in the Publisher Options dialog box.
